The Assistant Instructor programme makes up almost half of the entire IDC process. It is intended to give candidates an understanding of education principles, the PADI system and how to conduct class, pool and open water presentations. Successful candidates are issued with an Assistant Instructor certificate and are authorised to teach certain PADI courses including Discover Scuba Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Project AWARE specialty. AI’s are also highly useful certified assistants who can conduct surface skills in Open Water. This step provides an easy pace to the initial stages of the IDC, to encourage relaxed learning and understanding of the techniques. The course will be run as an evening / weekend programme at a schedule to suit candidates.
